Combination System

Internal/External Combination Waterproofing Systems

Combining an internal and external waterproofing system is an increasingly popular solution for the waterproofing of basements. Such an approach can provide a high level of protection against ground contaminants combined with ease of access for maintenance.

Placing the primary waterproofing system (e.g. Vandex Super or Vandex BB75 E) on the outside of the basement structure allows the building fabric to be protected from ground contaminants.

An Oldroyd Xv cavity drainage system is installed on the inside of the basement to provide secondary waterproofing protection. As this system is installed internally it can be accessed for maintenance without the need to excavate around the basement.
